Know Your Place

‘Know Your Place’ was an exhibition designed to showcase artists as change makers, as well as provide an opportunity for social scientists to explore how experiencing art might lead to change. It was part of ‘Moving the Middle’ – a five-year programme funded by MBIE and led by Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research.

Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research initially brought Stacey on to produce copy and visuals for their social media campaign, and work with local reporters to get the event in mainstream media. Later in the project they also added one-minute and ten-minute videos as a way to report back to funders and summarise the event.

The social media campaign for the local community (population 3,200) was a resounding success, with a reach of almost 19,000 over just seven weeks. In addition to the media coverage, this resulted in the ‘Know Your Place’ opening night being the most popular the venue had ever seen.

“Stacey is highly skilled, delivers what she commits to and is a delight to work with. Stacey stepped into a Science and Art community project at quite late notice, she very quickly grasped the project and delivered a great product.

“She brought great expertise and pragmatism into the project. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Stacey for Science Communication”
